xiang(b. 1984, chengdu) uses field recording, violin, body and voice as materials. her work focuses on the subtle noises and blank spaces that are happening all around. based on the study of the basic properties of sound and other media existing in landscapes or spatial structures, she creates new situations within the environment through improvisation and composition, thereby exploring the potential connection between individual consciousness and the condition of the field.
